What is a Veteran? A Veteran is commonly known as a person who has served in the armed forces or someone who has fought in many battles for a long period of time. Veterans inspired me in numerous ways. Veterans are very courageous and brave people. Veterans, either men or women, sacrifice their lives for everyone and their country. Veterans are also very kind because they put everyone else before themselves. They protect our country and do their best no matter what. To numerous people, Veterans are also called heroes.

Veterans fight in battles and wars, sometimes for months and sometimes for years. No matter what veterans never give up on protecting our country and all who live in it. Veterans serve for many years. Veterans have the hardest job overall. They work long, difficult hours sacrificing their lives every day. They never know if they will be alive or even if their best friends, relatives, or loved ones will be with them the next day. Veterans put their own lives in danger to protect everyone else living in where they are fighting for. Veterans live a very hard and tiring life. They go to war and fight for what they believe in every day. Veterans take pride in their jobs along with everyone else taking pride in what they do for our country.

Veterans are very courageous and brave people and are recognized for their good work by all. They are very courageous because most people would never have the courage to sacrifice their lives for everyone else. They are also brave because they know once they go out there it could be their last day. Veterans are honored every day. Veterans are most recognized and honored for their great deeds on Veterans Day. Veterans Day is a holiday celebrated by everyone. Veterans Day honors all those, men or women, who served or is serving in the military. This holiday takes place on November 11th. Veterans deserve their own holiday even though one day is not enough for them to be shown respect. Most people, however do show respect towards them almost every day.

I believe Veterans should be shown more respect more often than they are now because many people do not even think about them after awhile.

Should text messaging while driving be illegal?

76% of voters say yes, 24% of voters say no.

Text messaging while driving could be one the stupidest things a person can do. Texting while driving is very dangerous for yourself, your passengers, and other drivers on the road. Text messaging is a distraction and it only takes one second to be in the other lane, colliding with another car. A car weighs about one to two thousand pounds which can do a lot of damage. While driving you need to have undivided attention to the road and other drivers. Texting while driving is one of the main reasons for death. It is a very dumb decision to text while driving.

10 Ways To Relieve Stress

1. Identify stressors.
Many people feel totally stressed; some of the emotional symptoms of stress are anxiety, fear, mental pain, frustration, anger, and hopelessness.Focusing on the sources of stress can help you develop ways to better cope with it.Writing down a list of the things that cause you stress is a good first step to reducing stressors. The act of writing down a stressor forces you to acknowledge it as a problem; while some problems cannot be easily resolved, others can be easily removed by focusing on solutions. For instance, if your 6-year old child constantly makes you late several mornings a week because she can't decide what to wear, spending 30 minutes each Sunday afternoon with her selecting outfits for the coming week will help you to start off the morning with much less stress.
2. Set priorities.
Some people feel stressed because they have just too many things going on in their lives.Since everyone has a limit of only 24 hours in a day, sometimes you will have to say "no" to some of the demands on your time. Deciding what is most important to you and your family, and then making those things your priorities, will help you to decide which stressful things can be eliminated. For instance, if you want your family to eat healthy meals but find that cooking every night after work is becoming stressful, find some healthy takeout food or see if your spouse or older children want to share the cooking duties.Doing everything yourself can often inhibit creativity in others who would be happy to share in new household or workplace duties.Deciding in advance what you can and cannot do in a time period allows you to delegate responsibilities to others and feel more in control of your time.
3. Learn to control reactions.
People differ in how they react to stress in their lives.Reactions are really the key to dealing with stress; if you are constantly overreacting to small stressors, your body is already taxed when more serious problems come along.Learning to deal with minor irritations at work and at home in a more relaxed manner can help you save your energy for major troubles.Visualize different problems that you face and think of various reactions you could have and what the results would be.For instance, if a co-worker is not doing his part of the project you're both working on to your satisfaction, visualize yourself screaming and telling him how incompetent he is, ignoring his incompetence, showing him an easier and more efficient way to accomplish his goal, and pretending his work is okay and then redoing it yourself at the last minute. As you visualize the different results, you will probably find that some solutions would lead to continued stress, or even make new problems.Learning to deal with other people in a more relaxed manner is essential to controlling stress in your life.
4. Learn to let go.
Some problems that cause endless stress are often not really that important.By identifying problems that cause you stress, you will be able to let go of the minor irritations that are bothering you.If you feel you always have to be in total control of your life, you are bound to experience stress as things happen that you can't control. If your life has become tied to a strict timetable, try letting go of just 5 or 10 minutes of each day to do nothing.Step outside and look at the trees and flowers, feel the sun on your face, listen to the sounds around you, and just relax.
5. Exercise.
Stress can cause serious physical problems in your body.Often people who don't show strong reactions internalize stress, which can lead to hypertension, indigestion, insomnia, headaches, or other ailments.Keeping your body in good physical shape is important even if you're not under stress, and in stressful situations it's even more important to be healthy. Exercising can be a great stress reliever; running on a treadmill, joining a yoga class, swimming laps, or cycling with friends are all good for your body and can take your mind off stress.
6. Watch your diet.
In stressful situations it's often easy to skip breakfast, grab whatever's most available for lunch and keep going with coffee and sugary snacks. This wrecks havoc on your body, as your blood sugar and energy go up and down all day.Plan your diet in advance to allow for small meals frequently, such as cheese, fruit, veggies, and whole grains, and try to avoid excessive caffeine, sugar, and alcohol.Eat breakfast, keep healthy snacks in your desk drawer at work, and eat frequently. When your blood sugar is low, your attention span suffers, so don't go all day without eating; that just adds to your stress and when you're starving it's easy to make unhealthy choices.
7. Laugh.
If you don't see anything funny about your life, you need a good laugh.Laughing is good for the body and the soul, and humor can help relieve stress. Watch funny movies, read comic strips, or look up some jokes on the internet. Some hospitals have now included "laugh rooms" where patients with serious illnesses can relieve some of the tension by watching funny films and laughing, which actually causes a chemical reaction to occur in the brain.Humor is a good way to relieve stress.
8. Pet your pet.
Dogs, cats, and other animals can be great stress relievers.Petting a purring cat, throwing a ball for your dog to retrieve, or going on a jaunt atop your favorite horse can make you feel calm and peaceful.Pets can be comforts to those who have stressful lives; coming home and finding a loyal pet waiting for you is reassuring and allows you to unwind in the company of a totallynonjudgmental friend. If your building doesn't allow pets, walk a friend's dog or volunteer at an animal shelter, or just go watch the fish swim around at the pet store.
9. Get a hobby.
Many people who have stressful lives find hobbies relaxing.Having a hobby allows you to change focus and forget about problems that are causing stress in your life.Whether you like fishing, knitting, photography, or woodworking, a hobby can relieve stress and let you have something to which you can look forward. If you're facing a lot of stress, taking up a hobby that you enjoy can help you unwind at the end of the day.
10. Sleep.
Not getting enough sleep can lead to stress, as you will feel groggy and unfocused the next day after tossing and turning all night. As insomnia can be a symptom of too much stress in your life, getting enough sleep is very important if you want to relieve it.Most people need at least 7 or 8 hours of sleep each night to function properly the next day; if you get more or less your performance can suffer.Deep sleep is especially important, and if you wake up frequently this can be impaired; if you can't seem to get to sleep on your own, your doctor may be able to help you with this problem.

I feel as though teen pregnancy is being influenced by the shows on television. There is no reason for young, naive teenage girls getting pregnant at age 16. MTV is the biggest promoter of teen pregnancy through "16 & Pregnant" and "Teen Mom". These shows demonstrate struggling, uninfluenced, teens fighting with their families and boyfriend or baby daddy because they are pregnant. This is a horrible thing to display on television. Some girls who watch these shows assume if they get pregnant they can also become famous like those on "16 & Pregnant" and "Teen Mom". Teen pregnancy is not good for the baby because the mothers are not experienced, may not live in a safe environment, and it is more likely to have an abortion. I believe teen pregnancy should try and be stopped instead of encouraged.

Kesha Rose Sebert  was born March 1, 1987. You may not recognize "Kesha Rose Sebert" because she is better known as Ke$ha. Ke$ha is an American pop singer and songwriter. In my opinion, she is a lyrical genius. Ke$ha has her own style and doesn't give a fuck about what other people think of her. She makes up her own trends and everyone follows. Ke$ha is a role model of mine for numerous reasons. She loves glitter and sparkles which is my absolute favorite thing. I wear at least one thing everyday with sparkles. Her lyrics are hilarious, out of control, and have a "screw you" attitude. For example, from her song: "Crazy Beautiful Life"
"I just hope some people see,

There's nothing that I'm tryna be.
Let me just stop, all the shit talk.
I know I'm the new bitch on the block.
I been through my sketchy phases,
Been broke, been a shitty waitress.
But, I'm not now, guess it worked out.
Got here by runnin' my mouth."

Ke$ha is an outstanding person and is a phenomenal artist! Also, the dollar sign in her name is awesome because I do that too. I am going to her concert in two weekend & I cannot wait!

Why must weekends go by so quick? You get all pumped for the weekend and instantly it is over. The weekend should be four days long and the week should only be three. People need their rest and it would most likely better their attentiveness during the week. I think it is something that should be thought about. The weekend just goes by way too fast to lead to another monotonous week.

Florida for Spring Break

Who doesn't love the sun and beautiful weather? Obviously everyone who lives in NEPA because all we get is rain, snow, and flood warnings. So instead of getting pelted with sleet I went to Florida where it was an average of 85 degrees everyday! Once you leave the airport you immediately feel relaxed. You walk out into sun, warmth, and a gorgeous atmosphere. Florida is a beautiful area with palm trees scattered everywhere, green grass, and it is almost always pool weather. A college in Florida called Florida Gulf Coast University has their own man-made beach on campus, does it get any better than that? I honestly do not think so. The sun always shining, great weather, your own beach on campus, and so much to do, why should anyone stay in this bipolar weathered area? Is it worth staying in NEPA because you know everyone and are comfortable here or should you take the chance to a new beginning?

State Patty's Day

Have you ever heard of a University making up their own holiday? Well, Penn State Main Campus University created their own holiday known at "State Patty's Day". The police are looking to shut down this holiday because of the chaos and numerous amounts of people from all over going to Main Campus on this day. There are parties everywhere and it is complete insanity! My sister is a senior at Penn State and absolutely loves it there. She insisted on me attending State Patty's Day since it is her last year at Penn State. This past Saturday was my first State Patty's Day and most definitely not my last. It is such an entertaining event. Everyone gets dressed up in green, white, orange, and goes all out for this holiday. I loved State Patty's Day and I highly recommend attending it next year.

Just Go With It

The movie Just Go With It was hilarious. Of course, what movie isn't hilarious with Adam Sandler starring in it? Adam Sandler may be one of the best comedians in the movie industry. He never fails to make me laugh. Just Go With It also starred Jennifer Aniston. She might be the most beautiful actress in the movie industry.

Just Go With It was an excellent combination of romantic and comedy. It began with Adam playing the role of a Plastic Surgeon and Jennifer as his assistant. Adam would fool women into falling for him by telling them he is getting a divorce with a fake wedding ring. He then met Palmer and she made him let her meet his wife and children. Adam connived Jennifer to act as his wife and her two children act as his children. The little boy tricked Adam into taking a trip to Hawaii with Jennifer, Palmer, the two children, and Adam's friend. Jennifer runs into an old friend/enemy from college and forces Adam to play the role of her husband. Throughout their trip in Hawaii, Adam and Jennifer are playing two fake roles and eventually realize they both love each other. Adam realizes Jennifer was the only person he never lied to and she was the only women he wanted to be with for the rest of his life. In the end, they got married and lived happily ever after.

Fever & Step Brothers

Today I woke up feeling like I got ran over by a tractor trailer. What is being sick? Why was this ever invented? The horrible morning when you wake up after being fine the day before is the worst. Why me? So all day I laid on the couch hoping to feel better. Luckily, the movie, Step Brothers was on. Who doesn't love that movie? Step Brothers in my opinion is one of the funniest movies ever created. There are so many good parts I cannot even think of my favorite. A hilarious part is when they step brothers are talking about their favorite things and then go, "Did we just become best friends?" "Yup." "Do you want to go do karate in the garage?" "Yup." They are so corny and funny. Also , another great part is where they build the bunk beds. Everything about that part is hilarious. Altogether it is a great movie and thankfully helped me feel a little better. Although it is only 7:30, I'm about to go to sleep and pray I feel better in the morning.

Superbowl Sunday!

The biggest Sunday of football, The Superbowl. Every fan's dream is for their team to be in the Superbowl. Unfortunately for me, my poor Eagles rarely even get a chance to be in the Superbowl. Although with Micheal Vick and DeSean Jackson on the same team, I believe we can be that team next year! Micheal Vick just came back into the league again and was a nominee for MVP. If that is not impressive, I don't know what is. As long as he signs the contract, the Eagles will be in good hands. Micheal Vick has had his ups and downs just like everyone else. His situation was blown out of proportion and he should not have got the punishment he received. In the end, he did his time and should have the support from all his fans back. Everyone makes mistakes. Micheal Vick is a tremendous football player and deserves to have every one's respect back and not be looked down upon. The public eye is a hard place to live in. The public will make situations into worse or totally different situations then what they actually are. Everyone deserves another chance just like Ben Rothlesburger received.

Ben is the quarterback of the Steelers who are facing the Packers in the Superbowl tonight. Personally, I am not a fan of either team but my money is on the Steelers. The Packers kicked the Eagles out of the playoffs when they should not have even been in the playoffs. It is funny how things work out. Guess we will see the outcome in a few hours!

No strings attached!

This weekend I went to see No Stings Attached! It was such an intriguing movie. It really shows what love is all about but in a funny way. It was so good, I almost cried! No Strings Attached should definitely win the award for best movie. I have not seen that good of a movie since Up! Up is a kids movie but it could be for the whole family! I love it! It was the perfect combination of funny, happy, sad, and almost everything in-between. Although Up came out awhile ago I honestly think that might have been the last really good movie until No Strings Attached! I love movies but I'd much rather wait until they come out on DVD!

Football Sunday.

The Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers are facing each other. Personally I would like the Bears to win because I am a die heart Philadelphia Eagles fan!!!!!!!!!!! As everyone I'm sure knows the Eagles lost in the first round against the Packers and now I hope the do not succeed. So GO BEARS! It's pretty close, 21-14 about 4 minutes left in the fourth quarter!

After hopefully a Bear's victory, the Steelers are playing the Jets. My mom is a steelers fan so she is pretty excited for the game. It should be a real good game. They are both playing well. Although I do not care who wins this game, I hope the Steelers do for my mom! But in all honesty all I want is the Eagles to win a superbowl!! :(
